Cher Wang is a very prominent figure in technology and when I was looking up powerful women in technology, I'm surprised I haven't heard of her. Wang founded HTC, which should sound familiar. HTC is a brand of smartphone that is very popular. HTC stands for high tech computers. Her company started in the 1980's making computers. However, HTC has grown with the times and their specialty is now smartphones. Wang was also voted one of Forbes Most Influential Women in Technology. Wang originally went to Berekley to study the piano, but then changed her mind and studied economics. When she first started, her laptops weren't successful. But she didn't give up, and in 2000 she got her first major break by working with Compaq to create a PDA. Ever since then, Wang's company has been evolving to fit the current time.
